Bio
Dr. Nair was raised in the Midwest, attended grade and middle school in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved with his family to the blisteringly hot city of Phoenix, Arizona just prior to high school. His undergraduate major was in Biology from Stanford University. He went back to Arizona to attend medical school at University of Arizona in Tucson, which was marginally cooler than Phoenix. He stayed there for residency in General Surgery, taking time out to do a two-year post-graduate research fellowship in Transplantation Immunology back at Stanford. When he finished residency in 1999, he moved with his wife to Salem to join the General Surgery department at the Salem Clinic. Since that time, Dr. Nair has practiced General, Laparoscopic, Thoracic, and Trauma Surgery. In 2006 he founded the Bariatric Surgery Center at Salem Hospital which received the highly regarded Center of Excellence status in 2010. Dr. Nair is an avid runner, while his wife’s passion is horseback riding. They have a daughter who enjoys art and music, as well as her mother’s love for horses. Dr. Nair looks forward to providing state-of-the-art general surgical care for you and your loved ones.
