Bio
Why I belong...
I strive to provide personally tailored care with an emphasis on patient driven decision-making in the context of best evidence. I value lifelong learning through self directed endeavors and I hope to always be a "student" at something. My clinical interests and passions include healthy aging and the prevention of chronic disease. In 2015, I became a North American Menopause Society Certified Practitioner so that I may be in contact with the latest and best evidence, which I offer to my patients needing help with menopause.

After almost twenty years in the field of nursing, I have recently become more curious about the many ways nurses can lead health care. In pursuit of this interest, I completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice at OHSU in 2020 and I earned Sigma Theta Tau International, Beta Psi Chapter’s inaugural "2020 Outstanding DNP Award." This project brought to Salem Clinic best practices for people diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus. In my practice, I aspire to help match patients to the best evidence available and I want my patients to feel heard.

For Life...
As a Pacific Northwest native, I balance outdoor activities such as flower/herb gardening, kayaking, running, camping, flying, biking and hiking with my roles as both a wife and a mother. My husband is retired military and he is both a professional helicopter & recreational fixed wing pilot. My son plays the violin and he likes to push his boundaries. He was born with bilateral lower limb differences and so I participate in groups that advocate for people with a full spectrum of abilities. My daughter loves to learn and she will play vintage music from the 1920's through the 1950's on her piano for several hours on most days.
