Why I belong...
I knew from a very young age that I would go into medicine. I had planned to do geriatrics (medical specialty caring for the elderly), and help my aging grandmother. I wasn’t until I was in medical school and completing a rotation in OB/GYN in Alaska, that I found my true passion. I was delivering twins, and looked out the window to see a moose and her baby eating the leaves from a tree. It felt so natural and heartwarming, and I was honored to be there with a woman who was giving life. I enjoyed helping women of all ages, and the surgical aspects of gynecology appealed to me.

I believe a woman knows her body, and the body is designed to self-heal; with support and direction, we can all flourish. I was lucky to have found Salem Clinic after residency. It has been a great source of joy to work alongside this outstanding group of practitioners.

My special interests include: gynecologic surgery; urogynecology; urinary incontinence treatments; laproscopic and robotic surgery techniques; all minimally invasive surgical treatments; endocrinologic abnormalities in women (hormone problems); management of heavy menstrual bleeding, including endometrial ablation and hysteroscopy; hysterectomy for benign problems; management of endometriosis (painful periods and irregular bleeding as a result of changes in a woman's body); high-risk and low-risk obstetrics; multiple gestation management; birth control methods; sterilization counseling; and menopausal concerns. The hormonal changes in a woman’s life, and the multitude of issues that can arise, are a particular intellectual challenge.

I recertify with the America Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology yearly and I am driven to provide the best care possible for each patient. I belong because I am committed to the health and support Salem Clinic provides patients to attain their best selves.

For life...
I am originally from Western Montana. After completing medical school at the University of Washington and residency at the University of Hawaii, I made the move to Oregon. Salem has been ideal for my lifestyle. I enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, including: hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, dancing and going on walks with my Golden Retriever. The Willamette Valley is special to me, for it allows enjoyment of each season. I maintain a multitude of hobbies, as I am curious by nature.
