Dr. Fitting was born in California and grew up in Nebraska, where an early appreciation for close-knit communities and the importance of accessible healthcare took root. She completed her undergraduate education in Biology at the University of Hawaii before earning her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine.
During her residency, Dr. Fitting distinguished herself as Chief Resident and was recognized by her institution for her dedication to community activism and her advocacy on behalf of underserved and at-need populations. Her commitment to health equity and advocacy extended beyond the clinic. She was the resident union delegate with CIR/SEIU fighting for safe working conditions for residents. She was invited to speak with lawmakers and representatives in a national convention in Washington, D.C., showing her focus on the role of activism within medical care and the responsibility physicians carry to champion their communities.
Dr. Fitting has now made Salem her home, drawn by family and by the opportunity to serve a community she believes in. She specializes in family medicine with a particular focus on women’s health and whole-family care, bringing warmth, experience, and genuine investment to every patient relationship. She is currently working on becoming a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner through The Menopause Society. Whether caring for a new mother, a growing family, or a patient navigating a complex diagnosis, Dr. Fitting is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she cares for.
