Stephen Ames, DO

Dr. Ames originally wanted to pursue medicine through a combined love of the science and appreciation for the positive impact physicians can have on helping families stay healthy. The choice to specialize in internal medicine was as simple as falling in love with the medicine and the patient population during his internal medicine rotation in Kalamazoo. When it comes to what excites Dr. Ames about coming to work every day, he says "It's all about the people. Serving and developing a relationship with my patients and being part of a team that gets along well."

Outside of the office, Dr. Ames is actively involved in his church. Any extra time he has is spent with his wife, two daughters and son. They enjoy reading together, playing the piano and singing, and being outside gardening. "With young children around the house, there's plenty of things to do and explore together."
